4. Do something new in my life today
5. God will make a way where there seems to be no way
6. He makes impossibility possible
7. Complete, Complete, Complete in Him, I am complete in Him
Prayer Point:
O thou that troubleth the Israel of my life, the God of Elijah shall trouble you today in the name of Jesus.
Judges 6:14 says, “And the Lord looked upon him, and said, Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have not I sent thee?”
Go means:
a. To move on a course
b. To proceed without delay
c. To begin an action or motion
d. To act in accordance
e. To carry authority
Might means:
a. The power,
b. Authority, or resources wielded,
c. Energy, or intensity of which one is capable
What does Power denotes:
a. Ability to act or produce an effect
b. Legal or official authority, capacity, or right
c. Possession of control, authority, or influence over others
Implications:
a. Power implies possession of ability to wield force, permissive authority, or substantial influence
b. Authority implies the granting of power for a specific purpose within specified limits
Meaning of the title is:
To proceed without delay with power and authority.
Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
Luke 9:1 says, “Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases.”
Matthew 7:29 says, “For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.”
Job 22:28 says, “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.”
What does this means to Believers:
1. It means that you cannot be limited by situations and circumstances.
2. It means that you already have the power to go the extra mile in any given situation.
3. It means that situations and circumstances should bow to you.
4. It means that nothing should be capable of withstanding you.
Destroyers of Power and Authority:
1. Lack of Faith
James 1:6-8 says, “But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. [7] For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. [8] A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.”
2. Prayerlessness:
Luke 18:1-8 says, “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; [2] Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: [3] And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. [4] And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; [5] Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. [6] And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. [7] And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? [8] I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?”
3. Lack of Vision:
Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.”
4. Lack of Focus:
For you to maintain your focus, you must refuse to be diverted. Joseph had a focus to become great in life because God had shown him that people shall bow down to him. But there arose a diversion from the enemy.
Genesis 39:7-12 says, “And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. [8] But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; [9] There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? [10] And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. [11] And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. [12] And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.”
In our world today, there are many things saying “lie with me”. There are many distractions and diversions competing against focus in people’s lives. When you apply your power simultaneously on many things at the same time, you quickly dissipate your energy.
Means to Power:
1. Be born again.
2. Be obedient to the voice of the Holy Spirit.
3. Act as soon as you receive instruction from the Holy Spirit.
Genesis 22:1-3 says, “And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. [2] And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. [3] And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.”
4. Know the Word of God
5. Cultivate Biblical Principles.
a. For example to settle a dispute with your brother. Some will wait until there is a committee or a meeting and then begin to accuse the brethren. This is wrong.
Matthew 5:23-24 says, “Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; [24] Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”
The bible did not say that your brother should come to you but for you to go to him. The bible lays it upon you to go to him. If you involve a third party, you bring another complication into the matter because the third person has his own background, culture, mannerism, character and bias etc into an already difficult situation.
b. Maintain Peace:
Hebrews 12:14 says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”
Romans 12:18 says, “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
You are the one to maintain peace. Why the bible does lay it upon you? Because you cannot change the heart of another person. If you try, you will fail.
Proverbs 21:1 says, “The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.”
So it is only God that can do it.
Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
So God is the one that will take care of the other person.
